The taijitu, featured in “One Great Whole” represents the harmonious union of opposites. I am fascinated and inspired by the many, many opposites which are only truly complete when paired: black and white, heat and cold, female and male, yin and yang. In each case it is amazing to see the power and beauty that is realized not when these opposites compete, but when they unite.

My sculptures attempt to bring together intuitive, right-brained art and logical, left-brained science to capture the power of that union. I hope that people who identify with either end of that spectrum find inspiration and something to consider when they experience my creations.

Gumball Machine Update

I almost forgot to show how we are going to hold the candy in!  Here are the two front sides.  The blank I had could fit two so I made two.  I will have a video shortly of the maAcrylic front plate for Gumball Machine Picchining of both the body and the plastic.  After that you will just need some brass screws and a quarter inch dowel to make the machine work!

I was surfing the internet a little while back and I came across a neat idea to help the kids do their chores.  Yes, I believe that if they can operate a cell phone they can operate a washing machine!  This website they talked about giving small rewards to the children for their chores and I decided that a candy machine was a fun way to do that.  With that in mind, Here is the the concept for the candy machine.  I can only hope that it works as well motivating the kiddos as it does in the concept art!
